Animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures substantiate that Purina Puppy Chow provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages of dogs.
Amounts are recommended for an average puppy with normal activity. Remember food intake requirements
vary depending on age, activity and environment, and should be adjusted accordingly.
FEEDING WEANING PUPS
Puppies start to nibble on solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Purina Puppy Chow (three parts kibble to one part water) available to puppies at all times until fully weaned (6 - 8 weeks of age).
FEEDING GROWING PUPS
After weaning, Purina Puppy Chow can be fed moistened or dry at the same time every day - very young puppies three times a day, older puppies twice a day. Use the feeding guidelines shown here, but remember individual needs can vary. Feed to maintain ideal body condition as shown. Slight appetite changes and occasional digestive upsets are normal in puppies. If upsets become severe or linger longer than a day or two, contact your veterinarian.
FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTION
Purina Puppy Chow provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation.
SWITCHING TO PURINA PUPPY CHOW
When switching to Purina Puppy Chow from another food, please allow 7 - 10 days for the transition. Gradually add more Purina Puppy Chow and less of the previous food to your pet's dish each day until the changeover is complete. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.
Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet’s health, see your veterinarian regularly.

I have a 31/2 month old Blue American Razor's Edge puppy named Bruno. I had to take him at 29 days old because the mom no longer wanted to feed them. They were getting too big and hurting her at feeding time. I've been feeding him Purina Puppy Chow since I got him. He has progressed super nicely! He doubled in weight the first three weeks between vet visits. The first visit he weighed 6.2lbs. for his second visit and second set of shot he went from 6.2 to 12.4lbs. The vet even told me he was in great health. I totally recommend Puppy Chow!
I have 8 adult small breed dogs. Two of them delivered puppies four days apart!
I was feeding the mothers-to-be the puppy chow for the extra calcium content.
The puppies (all 8 of them!) are now able to eat the chow and they LOVE it!
I love that they get the nutrients that they need from it!
We love feeding our dogs the Purina Puppy Chow Completed. We would not feed them anything else. They love the food. We always buy Purina products because we trust the quality of their product.
I have owned dogs for over 40 years and I only feed them Purine Products. My puppies stay on Puppy Chow for the first two years of their lives (in which time they are slowly introduced to Dog Chow ) and I have always had healthy dogs. Would not use any other product !
i have changed to healthy morsels and had to go back to puppy chow because my chihuahuas did not like the healthy morsels they now eat like every two hours on puppy chow
